Few months back, I thought of revisiting my village after a long time. I was excited, I decided the time, manipulated things because I went to Gujarat particularly to attend weddings and thus I had to manipulate a lot many things so that I could find some time to refresh my past memories.
Now, I was on my way to “UNTARDA” on 7964(that’s my bike numberJ). Mayur was there along with me and I had to convince him a lot for the mini tour. Finally he got ready when I told him, “there are beautiful girls in my village”. We were cruising on “splendor “in the right direction and yes I knew the way exactly with the names of all villages, speed breakers and mini bus stops :D
We finally reached the destination and as expected, nobody could recognize me. I knew all of them almost but sometimes memory is lost due to the time factor (Ghajini is not always the reason). I was thinking of the past and visualizing my school, home, temples, paths, farms, few shops and wanted to see them as they were(Too much expectations and Hope). We went to the place where my school was there and it was heart breaking; now it was shifted and the old building appeared just like a building we see in some horror movies but still I couldn’t control, I jumped and climbed the wall of the school in a way I used to do when I was a kid (Hey, I am still a kid) J I felt the environment of the school, I felt the noise of children, sound of bell for which we used to wait eagerly, noise of fire crackers we used to awake our teacher whenever she was sleeping in the chair :D, celebration of 15th august, & 26th January in that vacant school building. It was the happiest moment I had in past few years.
Now it was time to feel the home J, so we went to the place where we stayed & to my surprise, not a single wall was there L I just looked around and found one poor lady and I asked her about the place and gave my identification and she was like, oh!! You are a son of Ranjanben and Prakashbhai (My parents were teacher in that same school: D). She was delighted and she asked me for water, I said yes. She brought vessel (LOTA), washed it and I was thinking where is the tape or pot and again to my surprise, there was a pipe rooted in the ground and from that she filled the vessel and gave me, I didn’t hesitate I took it and drank the water and to be honest that was the purest and sweetest water I have ever had. Even today, things haven’t changed in villages and especially for poor people. We avoid drinking water if it’s not labeled with “ISI” and purity assurance but do we ever think that, people don’t have water to drink and we are searching for better options; they don’t have any options still they are happy. Are we?
I met few of my friends and the way I felt the warmth in their welcome, I never felt it elsewhere. It was real, they were so happy and excited and shouting and hugging me like they would crush me I had tears in my eyes, reason? I was thinking, they don’t have money, enough food, water, and no facilities which I have, but still they have one thing, a pure heart with true feelings, which I or may be we are missing in our so called professional world or due to a change in our life style.
I came back feeling richer. I realized the things which where there in me but were hidden somewhere. I have learned lot of things from that visit and decided to fetch those hidden emotions to the surface and throw away the fake-ness if at all it exists anywhere around me. I was the happiest person for those 2-3 hours and I knew, happiness won’t stay too long since I will have to get back to another world. Life is a complete circle; you reach at the same point sometime sooner or later.
